Default Model 38 scope base question

I have a Cooper model 38 classic and I will be putting a Leupod 6.5-20x40mm side focus with a 30mm tube on it.
I would like to use the Talley light weight one piece mount/rings on it, and was figuring on ordering the low model and wanting to keep it close to the barrel. Would I be making a mistake?

Thank you to anyone who has experience with this combo,
John.

I haven’t used the Talley light weights, but have used Leupold 30mm lows and had plenty of clearance even with the Varmint weight barrel. Hope this helps.

Recently Had a similar question and gave them a call. Not only had the answer to my question but the correct rings and bases were delivered to my door in less than three days.
Really good folks to do business with.
Bob
