Here in BC, it's any shotgun or in rifles, rimfire only. I suspect you should use a flintlock, as that is sort of rimfire.

Nice Merriam's. Story similar to mine. Dad and I tagged out on our deer/antelope hunt in 2003. The guy helping us (can't really call him guide) said "why don't you guys buy turkey tags?" We were like "yeah right". Situation was like yours. There was a flock of 100 or so in the neighbor's yard. We drove up, I stepped out and chambered one in the 223 and tried to get cocky and take one's head off. Clean miss. Second shot thru then neck dropped one. Reloaded and handed to dad and he caught one in the back running away. 40 gr vmax in the 223 running 3700 fps. I thought it would tear it up. Blew up on the back bone and not a fragment in the breast.
