Default Sell the good stuff,..keep the junk?...

Wanted some 'gun dollars' to buy a 1968 Marlin 336RC Texan about 99% in 30/30 Win. Had four CZ 452 rimfires, and sold the Varmint 17HM2 in new condition and had owned it not quite a year.
I still have a BRNO copy Chinese make bolt rifle that I relined to 17HM2. After about 40-50 rounds it has started shooting noticably better .... I believe Redman liners like a bit of 'bullet honing' at least in 17 caliber.
Anyway I wanted to keep the junque and sell the good stuff. Why is that?
My mentor gunsmith is retired. He taught me to 'fix stuff' and initiated my buying and learning metal lathe/rebarreling, etc.
When shopping for stuff He always jokingly says..."I pay more if it's broken"

PS- both 17HM2's liked Hornady ammo better than Eley. Guess what I have a brick of....? (Eley).

Who can explain the insanity of wanting to buy/sell firearms when a desire hits!
The only problem is the "morning after Blues". The original reason for buying a particular firearm & its use, comes swarming back to mind after the gun is gone!
i still have some deep regrets on selling a few rifles in the past....especially when I see the prices they bring now!

Anyway, it is all part of the experience!

Bill

Default I sold my..

Smith &Wesson 25-5 in .45Colt,why I can't remember.I sure wish I had it back.
Perhaps we all have to sell a good one to remind us why we should'nt sell any of the others

Selling most firearms have left me with a Hangover, But once you have invested time and built something yourself it does seem to hold a meaning. Nelson

I have seen members selling guns after loosing their job and when they get back on their feet re-buy the same Rare gun. I wonder if they have to sell guns 3 months after loosing income , how did they get so financially poor to have to sell precious guns vs have enough $ saved to survive without having to sell rifles.

I think at times we all do this depending on circumstances . I have a lot of Custom-Semi/Custom rifles that were made to my needs.
I also have quite a few NIB or 95 % better rifles that would sell quicker than my 'Made for me " Rifles

I don't get a chance to sell any! The kids either take or put 'Dibs" on them!
Wouldn't have it any other way...
