As far as the big knobs, I'm not much of a fan, except on my CZ's. I did put the big knob extended bolt handles on those last year and to me they are a significant improvement.
Sound like you found the package that works for you, that's what we all need to do. guess i should have included the mini mauser, howa mini, cz527 and the kimber of oregon 84 in the list.

if i were cz i would have redesigned the 527 to have a 5 shot flush mount rotary magazine. i'm not sure the new 600 will survive without a stock redesign.

It would appear that CZ made a bad choice with the new 600 models. They have already had barrel issues and from what I read have now recalled all the switch barrel rifles and are going with a fixed barrel, like most rifles have.
I really feel they should have stayed with the 527's and did some improving on them, rather than drop them.
As suggested a flush magazine would be a fine start.

Bill i think i could have looked past the magazine because i shoot all my varment rifles single shot anyway, but if I had to pick one thing its the arse backwards safety.
The 527 was still a nice little action.

I was not complaining about the magazine, I use them in all my 527's, along with a single shot follower by Bob's sleds. I mostly shoot single shot, with exception when I am hunting deer/bear or coyotes.
The safety really does not bother me, guess got used to it on these, but I do prefer the American style.
And if I really wanted a flush magazine, calhoon sells a modified one.

Late to the party, when I saw this, I had go back to see what's up......
Now I'm even more confused.
Perhaps JD should look up the definition of 'pontificate'.

But as to being OT.....now that the current state of CZ's offerings is well known, that 527 American 221FB in my safe is now not in any danger of seeing another home any time soon.

Overall Sherm, they are my favorite also. And I do totally agree with you on the 527's. Hope you are getting in some good shooting and staying well.
The 20 SCC you put together for me, is still going strong and dead on.
Just range, dial and acrobatic lessons are given.

I see CZ has a newer version of the new 600 in Lux design. Does look nice and should make a good hunting rifle for those that like the Lux style of stock.
