Gary I assume you mean to carry a firearm? In CA when i cannot CCW say at a post office or government building I use this for storage. https://www.gunvault.com/product/nanovault-300/ One of the wonky law in CA is the vault or box cannot be permanently mounted into the vehicle such as a lockable vault bolted into the console or the glovebox.

Yes, that’s exactly what I want it for. I have two of those gun vaults but they aren’t as handy as the console for me. ML, I don’t understand the purpose of that law. It almost seems to me that it’s to aid the criminal as I would think it’d be easy to get a GV vs it being a hidden bolt lockable type?

I had already ordered one for a console from this outfit-

But I did give this a hard look also-

Just wondering if anyone had experience with either one.

I have the Lock'er Down Exxtreme Console safe with Abloy lock for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 and I could not be happier. I have some experience with other Gun Vault type products and I don't believe those come close to comparing with the Lock'er Down quality. Very heavy duty and super secure. This thing fits perfectly, and at least for my application the install was 5 minutes.

They are a little speedy, but they give military/law enforcement discounts and also discount future purchases. I'm also looking at the SUVault for under the backseat, but not sure if I like the idea of having my seat down all the time.

This thing is WAY BETTER than I could have imagined. Nice to see some craftsmanship. No regrets this time.

Down side is my fuel mileage might suffer, this thing is heavy lol.
