Smile Here's what I shoot....

......in my 17PPC at about 3900fps.

Smile Tim.......

The 32VLD "turned" solid was made by Lost River Ballistics........I think they're out of business now. They are not "real" accurate, in my rifle, but good enough for yote calling.

I received my small supply of them from a couple of friends......who I still owe BIG TIME!!

BTW....the bullet on the left is a Berger 37VLD.

Default funny story

a guy asked me to make him some 17 cal solid. OK I said, what did you have in mind?? He said that he was a big africa hunter and that is what he used to shoot animals in africa. I did do a search on the feller and he did write some articles on africa hunting, so I made them for him.

I made 19gr,26gr and 27.5gr bullets for him. He tested them along with barnes solids. they both shot about the same, so he ordered a couple hundred. I did give him 250 bullets to shoot and test for me. I shipped out the next 200 so he could load them to take hunting. He used about half of them and stiffed me on the bill?? he did send back a few and said the cost was too high

so, if anyone want to check them out, I do have a few left.

I've only used some Bergers and the Hornadys. The 25 gr. Hornady HP is the only one I could get triples on gophers with as both the Bergers & vmaxes, only doubles.
The 25gr. Vmax is similar to the 20gr. Vmax - doubles only.

I shot many more coyotes and red fox since this post started. 30 gr. Golds and 30 gr. Berger LTB's does the best job for me. never lost any I shot at and hit and no fur damage to where I had to toss one. The red fox the 30 works if you keep it to the head or meaty areas.
