Default An Interesting auction

That is one fine looking Garand. Would be very nice to own it, but it is way out of my budget. Whoever does get it, I sure hope he is a real gun nut and not just a collector, if you know what I mean.

Years ago, when I shot some high power rifle shoots, I had a Garand that I refinished the stock on and it really surprised me and those that say it, how nice that original stock was. And like a fool, sold it and often wished I had it back. They were one fine rifle, for war and peace. Bill K

If someone buys it, will they shot it?? If it's to look at, a picture will be much cheaper.
Look at all those extra $$ you would save to spend on more ammo AND a few more rifles.
If you pop for it, get two, the're small.

Current owner is a tank collector, very deep pockets. I'm sure this will be someone's safe queen.

I need to get my Garand out and shoot it too. Of course, it does not look quite like the one in the picture. Got mine when I first shot High Power, then moved on to the AR I built.

My opinion is this particular rifle with all the great stories and provenance surrounding it should be in a museum.

My buddy just returned from the auction. The M-1 went for 282K, he wasn't sure if that was before or after the 15% buyers premium.

Agree. Had I that kind of money to spend on a rifle I think my ego would be salved by a small plate that said "On loan from..." on public display in a prominent museum-Cody perhaps.

That is for sure where this gun belongs
