Fireball brass is easy to form, with the form trim die, from 223 to 17 FB or 221 FB.
And I see some sellers of brass to have it already formed out of LC, mostly, for sale, fairly often. So it still is a good option. |

Single Shot VT or FB
Your arsenal is missing a small case 20 or 22 caliber.
I think you would soon find a Vartarg or Fireball your favorite.

What are your shooting out of it? I was debating on just spinning one up after my 223 burns out or even just acklying my current barrel.

so if I could find fireball or rem brass you’d recommend that over a 17 based off the 223 or 222? If so why? I’d really be interested in a 17 actually thinking of it more but would prefer to stay off the 223 head stamped brass just to keep my head stamps different snd not mix them up. So like a 17-222, 17 fireball or 17 Remington.

Well I just hear so many feeding issues with the vartarg otherwise I wouldn’t even think twice.

Might as well throw the 20 Practical into the mix for consideration. JMO.

I might if started with a practical but fell into a tactical and love it so don’t need both.

So a fireball can have feeding issues? The Remington is fine though? Only reason I ask is I work part time at a small gun shop in my area and I believe they have both in stock that I can get at a decent price. But they also have lots of 222 and don’t want any feeding issues so, I’m totally okay with going with a 222 parent case. I’d rather go 222 Over 223 just to keep my hand stamps separated from each gun. That said if it’s beneficial going the 223 I’ll do it.
