Default 17 Fireball and AA2200

I'm curious if anyone is using AA2200 in their 17 Fireball. Can't seem to find any data. I use it in the 20 SCC and the 20 VT so assuming it will work well with the little 17FB.

No data on 2200 but have used 2520 with 25s in the 17FB.

i have used a lot of AA2200 in both 221FB and in 223Rem with 40gr bullets. I think it might be a tad fast burning for 17FB.

No… but… Page 47 list a load for 20 and 25

https://ramshot.com/wp-content/uploa...ide8.0_WEB.pdf

I like it in the 20-221 and the 221 but it seems so loud in my AR223 that I don’t use out there any longer. In the process of working up a 30 Herrett load with it though lol

I've been around a 17Mach IV that shoots AA2230 really well. AA2200 maybe a little fast but might not hurt to try.

Hog. I read somewhere that 2200 and 2520 are basically the same powder, just different makers. Could that be ? Anyone else seen that ?
Many of the reloading manuals do show the same loads for each with a given bullet.

I’ve never heard that Bill or know anything about it but I’d be surprised if they are according to their own BRC

I don't think this is the case. The burn rate progression is: AA1680, AA2200, AA2230, AA2460, and then AA2520.

It is the only powder I use in my 20SCC, have not tried it in the 17 fire ball. just may. However the load with 2200 that I have used in my 20SCC has worked for a few years now.

My loads in the 17 fb are with CFE Blk and 4198 and work very well, so, in a sense, why try it in it ?
