.224 Hornet bullets.
Of course.
I was shooting reduced 22-250 loads down to around 1500fps with Trailboss and Remington 45gr HP bullet. They group rather well. I went to my local gun shop to buy the rest they had as it seemed nobody had bought them in a few years, they had dust on them the last time I was there. To my surprise the shop sold most of its reloading stuff and told me they would only be carrying powder and primers from here on out. Need less to say the Remington bullets where history. Does anyone have opinions on this bullet as a replacement- https://www.sierrabullets.com/store/...a-40-gr-Hornet or maybe these- http://www.speer-bullets.com/ballist...tail.aspx?id=2 http://www.speer-bullets.com/ballist...tail.aspx?id=1 I don't want to get hung up on trying to find the Remington 45gr HP's as they seem to have been discontinued. I want something extremely soft for very slow speeds. |

Jingle, you might be interested in the 45gr bullets from Armscor that Ammo Supply Warehouse sells for loading the .22 TCM. If you'd like to try a few, PM me and I'll mail you some of them. Dirt cheap, too.

Jingle:
Just send Paul Box a note asking for a sample of each of Sierra's 45 gr .224" bullets. Don't know about Speer if they send samples or not. Paul@sierrabullets.com Good luck

I like the Sierra Hornet bullet. It has a lot of exposed lead which helps with expansion at lower speeds.
Here are a few others you might consider from Hornady...they are normally a bit cheaper than the Sierra. http://www.hornady.com/store/22-Cal-.224-45-gr-HP-BEE/ http://www.hornady.com/store/22-Cal-.224-45-gr-HORNET/ |
