Default Action question

Chucker,

I have never seen one of these actions. Are you pleased with them and how would you compare the quality to a BAT?

Default Action Photos for Wasatch

This pic has a 20 BR case for comparison.

Things I like about the action:
The bolt handle radius lines up with the action body (see first pic).
The action uses Remington style triggers.
The bolt shroud to bolt body is a close fit (see second pic).
The bolt body to action is a tight tolerance fit.
Closing the bolt is like locking a vault.
This one has been polished up but it did not take much work to get it to this condition.
Recoil lug is integral with the action body (see third pic).
It is about 1" shorter than Remington’s (short) action.
Bolt handle is nice and long but not too long.
Sako extractor is used.
Everything is on center and lines up perfectly. Firing pin in dead center on the primer.
Scope mounts are two each front Remington bases.

I can not see anywhere or anything which could be improved. Fit and finish are next to perfect. The thing is a machinist work of art. It has some subtle improvements incorporated on the action which cannot be seen until you take a closer look.

Very nice.

Default Thanks AL

There are some cool things happening with these actions.

There is rumor there may be one in the future.

Can't take credit for the wood, God put it here, I just had the opportunity to highlight it a little.

Hope things are well up north.

Default Ready to go shoot that 20?

Chucker, give me a shout if you would like to go up to Idaho or over to Wyoming for some chuck or pdog shooting. It would be nice to meet you in person and do some shooting together. I still owe you for the loan of your 20BR dies last year.

Default Sounds like a plan....

Work is kind of silly right now, let me look at my schedule and we will find some time. I think it is kind of cold right now. Ya I'm a wimp. Sounds like fun, I am getting marmotosis fever, when I drive by the chucks sitting on the road I break out in cold sweat and my finger starts to itch....

All it takes it a finger breaking the trigger and watching the Marmot flip into the air!

Mike.
