Hi Matt. I'd love to make some .20's. When J4 or Sierra releases their jackets to the general public, I imagine there will be will be quite a few people entering the .20 cal. bullet market.

Until then, I'll putz along with these .30's and try to figure out which end of the bullet goes in the case first.

Take care. -Al

Default .30 cal. bullet update.

Been making some small lots and testing. Here's my best effort to date. Rig was my 10.5 lb. LV/Sporter 30BR. Pretty standard stuff: Kostyshyn 1:17, R/R Panda, Robinett spec. reamer, 'smithed by Stan Ware, Bruno/McMillan pattern stock, pillar bedding and stock work by me, Sightron 36X.

Good shootin'. -Al

Al I'd say you a handle on the bullet making part of things!

Default I'm throwing out the BS card on this one.

Al, there is no way in hell that group measures .073. I'm not sure who measured it or what method of measuring took place. From my calibrated eye, taking into account the picture enhancing capabilities of the internet, that group has to measure smaller than that. Very impressive my friend, good shooting and good bullet making to you.

Default Tubbs Bearing Surface Measuring Tool

Has anybody tried one of these? Do you think it is useful for a bullet-maker?

I'd think it would be useful to separate lots into different bearing lengths as well as various weights.

Default 1" jacket length

I'm going to guess that he is making the 118 grain bullets on 1" jackets. They could possibly be .925", but i'm guessing 1".
