Default 17 Caliber Bullets

The ultimate fox bullet for my .17 Fireball was the Berger Match Target 25 grain. When they stopped making them I bought about a thousand from guys who would sell them to me. My supply is down to maybe 200 and since I do not imagine I can find more, I need to find the next best bullet. This one was great because the very tight hollow point in the cone was not overly destructive on predators as their 25 grain varmint bullet was. I no longer see the Kimber bullets. I do not want an explosive varmint bullet either. So, where do I go? Hornady 25 grain hp or ???? Will be loading for my .17 Fireball and perhaps a .17/223 in the future... Help :-0

Maybe apply a point forming tool to the Hornady HP bullet?

I'm not sure which Berger bullet your talking about but do you have a item number as I have found 25gr Bergers at several places on line. I will have to look as to where I last got them . I use the #17308

He is talking about the older Berger bullets, they no longer make the one he would like. The new one is a mash between the old max expansion and the old match.

What is the part number?

I have several Berger 17 bullet types from rifle purchases and snagging for future use. I haven't developed a load for any Bergers, and probably won't, so I might have what you need in my stash. If you shoot me the item number I will check what I have.

Hey Allen,

Do you have any Berger 30 grain hollow point match boat tails stashed? Sure would like to pick up a few hundred. (My supply is down to the point that only the truly fortunate and deserving ground hog is rewarded one of these bullets!).

Thanks,

Thank you, Allen. I have one box that has the part number 17407 and two very old looking boxes without a part number but they appear the same as the 17407 which is called the 25 grain FB match target.

Well......

Either I still have not organized my pills as good as I thought, or I was Mistaken.

I found all my 17 Bergers are 30 grain, and a lot less than I thought. My main Berger stash is 20 Caliber, from what I found just now. I will pull the car out tomorrow and look closer/ organize better, and send you a message if I find them, but it doesn't look good right now

Maybe this will bump it for another member to see, sorry I thought I should have what you need. Now where are my glasses....

I'll have to do a spring cleaning on the others, so Y'all don't fill my inbox, lol.

That's the one, 17407, I still have a box. They came in 200 count.
Ken.
