When I played with one a couple years back, I bought a set from McPherson. But I believe Lee custom has them also, possibly.

I procured the only other 17VHA AR that I know of, I will make a post of it and the loads I develope for it . It has a Superlative Arms piston kit on it, so looking forward to that.

I have found that 1680 and CFE BLK makes a little more gas for my DI rig and helps it cycle better. Tweaking a new load now.

Default Loads 17vha

I was wondering how those loads are coming for the 17VHA?
And I was wondering if you had performed anymore accuracy testing. Have you tried the 15 grain Hndy V max? Do you still have your original 17VHA bolt rifle. ?

I know that's a bunch of questions but kind of interested in what your mileage has been with the bertridge I'm about 300 pcs into 600 cases , - forming, neck trimming deburing and sorting. Did you sort any of your brass by weight. I've heard that some people use pistol primers and cartridges such as the 22 hornet but I was wondering have you tried this at all in the 17VHA?

300MP works very well in my bolt gun, but seems like it's a little too fast or lacking in gas pressure for the timing of the AR. The slightly slower powers show better cycling attributes.

I have not tried anything lighter than the 20gr bullets. I am going to get some 17gr NTX bullets to try for grey fox next trip.

Give pistol primers a try, could work, the Fed 205's have worked well for me, and I have a bunch of them, so just running with those for now.
