Default Mixed Bag........

Went out yesterday afternoon for some local exploration. Nice to be able to get 3 different species within an hour of my home. Shot my first columbian ground squirrels of the season, (they just started coming out a few days ago here). I Found a new rock pile with a few chucks, and picked apart a pocket of ground squirrels in the timber/sage. Fun afternoon indeed with the little Browning 1885 Hornet.......(DARN you RICK!!). I hope you other fellas are getting out and enjoying the sunshine.

First 2019 "Digger"...columbian ground squirrel

Here is his "Cousin"........

And, a few rock chucks.......One of which is the biggest I've ever shot.

Here is the "beast"........

And lastly, a few "Beldings" ground squirrels........

And this last one was off the shooting sticks at 115 yards, he flew off the stump 5' in the air and cartwheeled 5 yards to the right. I propped him on the stump for a photo op...........Sun wasn't bad for a "flattering pic" of my rifles BUTT. I need a name for this little beauty.......

Thanks Daryl. It truly is a beautiful area and I'd rather shoot 1/2 a dozen squirrels up here than 6 dozen in a farmers field. I really enjoy the "walkabouts"!

Those 40 gr nosler varmageddon tipped bullets going 3075 FPS at the muzzle of this hornet are pretty impressive at "re-arranging rodents"
