Default Rat smacking Ruger

I LOVE MY RUGER 17 WSM

Had a nice 5.6 mile round trip hike today. Found some new honey holes.

Was shooting the .17 WSM Winchester 15gr Lead Free load.

Shot around 100 ground squirrels and 3 rock chucks. Didn't take a pic of the 3rd rock chuck as I didn't have "rock climbing gear" with me, he was in a hole.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the day. Finally a sunny day.

And yes, the "left side" of the stock is as nice as the other.

Oh, it's accurate too.......How could it be?
Two 100 yd bench groups in 3MPH crosswind yesterday evening with 15gr Lead Free Winchester ammo........bottom was first group, adjusted up a few clicks and was money for the next group in the low .3s"

Straight from ruger at 24"......shoots like an afternarket

Thanks Bill....it was nice to finally have 70 degree weather and sun for a day.

Eric:
Thanks man, one of my favorite styles of hunting as well. Next time I'll have one of my Kimber 223 longmaster classics along. This scouting trip turned up way more chucks than expected. I passed up a dozen or more due to ranges from 350yds to 600yds. Should be fun in the future with more firepower.

Thanks Matt. One of the chucks was 205 yds out and the 15grainer absolutely electrocuted him, I was impressed

Is this your first time shooting the 15 grainers on sage rats and how would you compare them, shooting sage rats, to the 20gr 17 WSM ammo?

Like many of you, I bought a few cases of this 15gr stuff when Midway had their big sale on it.

I have a few cases of the 15.5gr 17 Hornet ammo I'd like to try on some rats too.
