Default Calhoon .22 Hornet bullets

Fellows ,

I've got some Calhoon DHP .224 bullets , which I intend to load in a .22K Hornet . Has anyone used them , and how were your results .
Hope to get a shot at a groundhog or 2 in the 100 to 150 yard range using my Bullberry barreled .22K carbine .

Thank you in advance for your time , help and consideration .
Stay healthy .

Soup

If I remember correctly, Calhoon made both the 37gr and a 42gr DHP that were Tin plated. I bought a box of Cooper ammo when I first got my M21 in 221FB. The ammo shot great, but never got to try them on live targets, as I was anxious to shoot the new rifle.

i shoot the 37’s in an R2 and 221, they are quite accurate and perform well.

I am going to use the 42 gr .224 bullet in a K-Hornet running about 3250 this summer. Hoping to get good "pop" with them out to around 200 yds.

Every 40 and 45gr. bullet I shot in my Hornet were great on Columbia Ground Squirrels. Wood Chucks would work even better due to more resistance to the bullets.
There were no lightweight bullets that didn't perform with the Barnes Varminators, Vmax and Ballistic Tips doing well to over 300yards.
I would use them if they shot well. They will surely perform.
Oh - 40gr. Sierra, while very accurate, has too tough a jacket for the Hornet.

Default I shoot the 42s in my K

I have a 77/22 Hornet that Greg Tannel turned into a K Hornet and the Calhoon 42 s work very well in it.The load I use for called in coyotes is right at 3200 FPS.
