Default Guess what I "rescued" this morning...........

...........a Browning A-Bolt Micro Medallion in 22 Hornet. Like I needed another 22 Hornet......... , but what the heck.

If it has been fired, its not been a lot of times. The stock has a couple of very minor dings that look like a mild case of safe rash and they are hard to see without specifically looking for them. Both sides of the receiver and the floor plate are nicely engraved

It came with a Leupy 1.5x5 scope, but that is an easily solved problem....

btw - the small white item seen at the edge of the floor plate near the front action screw was a piece of white cloth that was easily removed.......

Very nice rescue, it is so lucky you found it before anyone else did.

One cannot have too many Hornets or Hornet-based wildcats. Once owned, you just naturally acquire more, and to me at least, that's a good thing.

Congrats on a nice 'rescue'. Those are sweet little rifles, and that is a very nice example of the breed.

Very nice find! You can't have to many Hornets.

As I recall, there were several folks here on the board that had the Browning A-Bolts and that the Hornady 35gr Vmax Hornet factory ammo shot very well in them. I don't have the Browning, but my Hornets like the 40gr VMAX a bit better, especially in windy conditions.

I have had one like your for 15 years or so. It is definitely my favorite hornet. I have had a couple of Rugers but they did not shoot like the
Browning. Mine likes the 40 grain in either Sierra or Hornady. I load with both H110 and H 4227.
I also have a Browning 1885 headed my way. It should be here this week. I will try to post a picture of the pair when it arrives.

Thanks for the comments. I had no plans to buy another Hornet when I woke up this morning, but this was too good of an example for me to pass it up at a very good price.

I now have enough Hornet based cartridge rifles to arm a 5-man basketball team and a couple of subs. But as several have stated, Hornets grow on ya'..........

I have one just like it. Had Greg Tannel make it into a .19 Calhoon. Nice find-they are rare.

Default Browning hornet

I had one 15 or so years ago. It was a very accurate gun. I needed a heavy barrel hornet so I sold it and bought a heavy barrel anschutz.
Very nice rescue!

Default Very nice....

I’m sure most of us would have bought it too
That scope will go nicely on a 416 Rigby
