I just received my barrel last week from Lilja, it took exactly 14 weeks for me too. 17 cal, 1-9 in Vixen contour. Now I need to decide what to chamber it in. Will probably do 17Fb.

First 2 coyote with the rifle Saturday. First at 225 drt, second at 235 drt both ranged with the sig before shot. Noticed during the summer a poi change between a couple range visits, thought it maybe the old ramline stock. Found a Blackhawk thumbhole stock I liked. So far no poi changes and groups tighten up from.3-.4 to cutting holes at 100 yards. Shooting the Woodchuck den 29 gr at 3950, no pressure signs. Anyone have any of the these bullets they don't need drop me a message. Mike.

Default 17 Rem

I would suggest that you get a reamer with zero to .020 freebore with that fine barrel!

Thanks for keeping us updated. Sounds like a fine piece you have there now.

3 more coyote with the 17. One shot running at about 350, another running away at 185 that was an easy shot. Badgerbob sold me some good looking 10 ogive fbhp bullets that shoot well, next coyote will catch one of those as a load test.

I shot 5 more coyote in February using some 10 ogive 29 gr hp. Closest was 82 yards, longest 300. Have not been able to run them over the chronograph but the 100-300 yard holds were the same as my 29 gr. Woodchuck den load. So I had Leupold cut me a CDS turret, now I have a zero stop. No misses with the Lilja barrel, it is a laser. Crows, cats, coyote drops everything. Mike.

Coyotespotter is this chambered in .17 Remington. I'm searching for some loads and like the velocity you are getting with the 414 powder.

Yes it is a 17 rem chamber, cut with a custom Dave Manson fixed pilot reamer. I sent him three new brass ran through my fl die and a dummie round with the bullet I wanted to shoot and a couple extra bullets. I had the barrel finished at 26 inches to get as much velocity from the h414 or w760 I had planned on trying. Haven't tried 760 because the 414 shot so good. This a hunting rifle not for colony or high volume shooting, though I have not seen any high pressure signs I probably will not go higher.

Nice!! I am shooting with a suppressor so I don't want to go to 26" because it's just way to long and hard to handle. Hopefully I can get near 3900 with 24" barrel. The cds is a very nice system, I just got one this winter and I can't believe the accuracy I get with it.

If you are shooting suppressed and shots are under 250 yards, a tough 25gr bullet at 4000+ would be a great coyote combo. A faster powder and a 22-24 inch barrel should be able to reach 4000. The factory 24 inch barrel with the 29 gr bullets I could not get to 3600. Barrels are all unique. A friend and I are going to build 2 22-250's at the same time. Barrels ordered together, same reamer, finished the same and same loads-brass powder bullets all same lot. It will be interesting to see "twins" performance.
