I have an old Sako L46 converted to .17 Mack-Iv (Fireball).
Benchmark gives me the best accuracy, H335 and Reloader 7, right behind
18.5g benchmark, Lapua brass, win or cci primers for 3690-3720, fps 25 v-max,
Slightly less speed with Remington brass,
Accuracy dropped off, at higher chargers. I was trying for faster.
19 gr for the 20gr bullets. @3900

25 Vmax, Rem brass, CCI primer and Benchmark. Got them all the way to 3900 FPS and still no pressure signs of any kind. They would group .2-.3 at 100 at 3890 FPS. Max speed var 20 FPS. They are still well under an inch at 300 yards.

Default 17fb

I have 3 .17FB's and all of them will shoot 14.6 IMR 4227 with a 25 grain Rem HP very well. I found this load in my 4th Edition Hornady manual. That manual lists 14.6 as max load at 3,700 fps for the .17 Mach IV.
