Default Just sharing (not small cal)

just got an order of barnes ts-tx 110 gr for my 300 aa blackout in an AR-15 pistol 10.5". I am using the pistol for hunting Deer this season.
loaded 19.5 and 20.25 gr of h110 powder in hornady cases (2200 fps). just checked the zero on the pistol and shot these 2 3 shot groups at 100 yards.
I am now headed to the woods to look for something to shoot .
minimum expansion velocity is 1300 fps. at 375 yards the bullet is still trucking along at 1329 fps.
I would like to go visit my nephew in south Texas. he has 300 acres of high fence and a 4500 acre lease that joins it. lots of big hogs.
+2.0 @100 yds - 2.7 @200 yards.

I love shooting tin!

it is. I have 2 uppers for it, one in 300 blk and the other in 223. the 223 will shoot 5 shot .75 groups with 65 gr sierra game kings.

scope was the on'y spare I had, would prefer a 2x7 leupold matt finish.

That will work. Time to put a can on the end of barrel. I built a 10 1/2 inch blackout to shoot the subsonic bigger bullets with a can. Definitely better for your ears. Really cuts the volume. Good luck on hunt(s).

Foxhunter,

I have a very similar pistol and have been shooting lil gun in .300 BLK and it gets very dirty fast. Does the H110 work cleanly? Sooty fired cases?

no soot and you can pick up the cases right away without getting burnt, luke warm at best. h110 and ww 296 same powder by the way.
so far I have had 2 problems with the rifle. not ejecting the case and trying to load a round from the magazine. the gas key was leaking gas around the base. colt uses Permatex d3 aircraft on their keys, I used red Loctite and it worked.
second issue I found after the 2 groups I posted. side to side adjustment on the scope was off. turned out I forgot to tighten the base and when I tipped the rifle straight down I heard a click. you could click the scope back and forth front to rear. it isn't doing that any more and is still grouping like before.
