Default Welcome aboard Cubcadet70...

I wish I could spare mine, but I will be needing them.Perhaps Ray H can help out,a 20 Killer Bee might be something to consider per your FB note, not sure who has that reamer now but I think some of the guys had some dies sets made up.The Killer Bee really is a sharp looking cartridge.I am sure a quick search will show a bunch of pictures.Since you have the 17AB reamer already it might be easier to go that route ,just make sure you get a 9 twist barrel and then you could shoot the 20 and 25 grain V-Max bullets ,they are plentiful.

I only built Dan's excellent 17 Killer Bee. I did see yesterday a set of RCBS 17 Ack Bee dies on Ebay.

I tried to bid on that RCBS die set on eBay and only missed it by .57 cents. It went for $100.57. I guess someone out there wanted it just as bad as me.

The 20 Killer Bee has me very curious. Might be a better route due to better bullet slections

Default 17 Ackley Bee

I have a 17 Bee on a martini action which shoots very well. I do think if I was to do it again I would go 20 caliber.

I passed on a nice .17 Ackley Bee Contender barrel over the weekend, strictly due to lack of dies.

I have a set of dies and a set of forming dies along with a couple 17 Ackley Bees. As such I can't let go of either, but I'd be glad to form a batch of cases for you

A-a-a-and, then there's the HeBee. Or HeeBee? That's my caliber, and I'm sticking to it.

The Ackley bee dies are expensive. When I got the 17 bee bug some years ago, 17 Ackley bee dies were 150 and the form dies were 250. Kinda stout to me.

Then I noticed two sets of sizing/seating dies and the form set for the 17 A&M bee. The A&M has a 33 shoulder rather than the Ackley 30. The dies of for the A&M were 1/5 of the Ackley and no one but wanted them..........I got them all for some reason, put minimum bids on all three sets.......and there you have it.

Guess sometimes there are alternatives to consider. I suspect that if you only partially resize your fired cases, either die will do.

I made up a walking No.1, with light weight barrel and new AH forearm from a forum member. Shot it a while, and then the No.1 became a 45acp. Shooters are fickle I guess huh?

fwiw.
