indeed they are both great cartridges, just not what I'm looking for exactly. so back on task is there anything that you would change about your rifle or any that others have had built for them? twist rates, appearance preferences (likes/dislikes), stock choices (wood vs. composite)...etc. also what gunsmith would you recommend? btw how do you like your 20-250? I am also on the fence for having a .20 cal built and would like to stick to a wildcat design over a factory round. i like unique cartridges and things that not everybody has already.

I would not change a thing except for the scope the going to the 2-12 VX6 instead of the 3-18.
I would think about a 26" barrel might as well get the most out of the Pred. I have a few 20's a VT a couple of 204's 20br and 20-250, the 20br is the most accurate but my 20-250 is pretty close and moves the 55gr Berger 200+ fps faster than the br and just destroys groundhogs, I haven't shot any coyotes with it yet but have with the 20br and 55gr Bergers they dropped on the spot usually with no exit |

i agree, i love the handling of a 24" barrel but this is going to be a performance rifle and i want the most out of it. Plus i can get by with a slightly longer barrel and not bother me at all. do you have any experience with gre-tan rifles? what gunsmith would you recommend?

You won't be sorry going with Greg plus he has a reamer , Bob green is another very good smith but he doesn't have that reamer so you would have to provide it, Cody Farr from Cody's Custom guns also very good , and Dasher who is also a member here builds some beutiful rifles ther are a lot of good smith's out there if you went with any of the ones above I think you would be happy with the outcome

Greg is an awesome smith. I have one gun that he built. Normally his wait list is pretty long, he's not cheap, but its worth it. Probably the best action job that you can get for a factory action. I've got a few guns from Bob Green. One of them got me 4 national records.

Greg built my .17 Predator and it turned out to be my all time favorite coyote calling rig. He built my .20-250, 6-284, chambered the barrel for my .20 Dasher and other hot rod work, all has been flawless.
.17P on it's first morning afield. They're so cute when they're new . It's on a Model Seven, McM Rem. Classic stock, Lilja #4/9T. - DAA |

Same rifle on it's most recent outing, my Nephew used it, his first coyote(s) and also first time shooting a .17.
Rifle has accounted for hundreds of dead coyote between the first and second pictures . - DAA |
