That's a fine buck, Charlie! Thanks for sharing the experience with all of us. Sometimes it pays off to listen to that little voice inside that too often is ignored.

no, but it was a small caliber freezer stuffer...compared to yours.

Freezer stuffers come in all sizes Charlie and IMO it's totally quality and not quantity that matters. My boy had a full freezer and a most of a meat-locker box full a that bull in the picture I showed. He arrowed it while it was actively engaged in a full on rut fight (great for real hunting story), but each and every bite a that bull tasted worse than the last one "YUUCK!". I'll take a whitetail full a tasty to bull elk full a nasty any day )! The steaks on that grill look way tasty Charlie !!

Here in Ohio, I can't begin to tell you how many times I have heard of
whitetail bucks not being as good eating as does.
I have not found this to be true. Many of the big older bucks have been
the best table fare.
Even better than does.
