Unhappy 20 Beggs vs 20-250

I've got a 8.5 twist PacNor ready to chamber. Donor Rem 700 action was a 22-250. Want to shoot 55 bergers for a walking coyote rig. Was originally settled on the 20-250 but the Beggs has sparked my interest of late! How bout some opinions and comments. I know I'll have to get a different bolt for Beggs.
TIA

I think you're overlooking the best option, the 20BR. I think you'll find the beggs lacking in the FPS department, where you'll need it most with those big bullets.

I've made several BRs in repeaters with no modifications to the action or magazine and they feed fine.

OKyote73, Adam is right on with this recommendation. After fooling around with larger case capacities for the 20 caliber trying to improve on the 20BR (for distances beyond 500 yards), I ended up right back at the 20BR. I for one have always believed the 20BR was best suited for the 55 Bergers, but I also would suggest you take a look at the 55 gr Blackhole Rebated Boat Tail custom bullet. I believe Blaine designed that bullet for coyotes. My current 20BR shoots either bullet very well. 410gauge

You said bolt change, I run a .20-.223AI or 5X45AI with a 28" 8.5tw PacNor and am getting 3640 fps with the 55's. Just an FYI.

Default 20-Beggs

20-Beggs is a great small caliber cartridge but I believe you will do it a dis-service to chamber it and think it will shoot the 50-55 grain bullets with the same performance as the 250 case cartridges. I have a 20-Beggs very accurate, speedy 4000FPS (but with 32-35 grn. Bergers)
It will never come close to the 250 size cartridges with the heavy bullets. Personally I believe the 20-250 is way overbored and your barrel will be short lived. Just my opinion which is not worth much?

Ive had 20 BRX (BR + .100 at the shoulder) and have a 20-250 , and like both of them about equally. The 22-250 brass can be had pretty cheaply if you watch the classifieds and the longer case feeds better without a doubt.
I've run the BR case with bullets up to .375 dia and down to .204 with about everything in between and was never 100% satisfied with the feeding. I use the Bryant mag box mod.
They actually feed better through the AR's Ive built ,than through bolt actions, using PR-6.8 magazines.

Default 20-250/20 Beggs

Thanks for the replies guys, about decided the 20-250 route is for me! Next question?? How about a 20-250ai to avoid case growth? I'm kinda an AI "freak". 257, 250, 22-250 all ackleys! Seem to have an affection for the 250/3000 parent case, hhhmmm! Know the 20-250 is already way overbore but is the ai version worth doing? The 55gr pills should do well here in the wind.
TIA, mark
