any estimates on how big he is? the corm pile is about 5.5 feet long.

Looks like he would go a good honest 350 lbs. Thanks for sharing. Bill K

bears are tough to judge. I'd go 175-200 lb. Pretty cool though. We are missing a red plastic hummingbird feeder at the house. It's completely gone. It was hanging 6 feet from our front picture window on an iron hook, about 3 feet off the ground. It's GONE. I've looked all over. Only thing I can think is bear??? There's a few around in the mountains nearby, but not usually seen down our way.

Saw 3 bears running across a field this morning while duck hunting. Most likely a mother and 2 Cubs. They are moving around.

Hey Bob, what were the dogs doing while this Bore, or boar???
was feeding?

Hard to tell much from this angle. Let's see more when you get one
of his head.

Is this the first bear around there? First I've seen you post.

Have fun.

I would guess 175 to 225pounds. Not a large bear at all. If it actually is a 6' bear, maybe 250pounds.
Guessing bear size and weights is very difficult - knowing the corn is 5 1/2' is a good thing. Note how
it's belly is no where near the ground and legs appear quite long, even though it is fall and they should
be fattening up by now - thus likely a 3 or 4 year old bear. 3-year old black bears rarely exceed 5' and175 pounds.

Don't think they hibernate in S Mo.

Do they Bob? Should be lots of nut tree's in all those
woods. Oaks? Hickory, what else is around to feed 'em
besides corn?

i don't care how much he weighs I'm not taking any midnight strolls thru the property without a firearm and it's not going to be a small caliber either.

Area west of here sheepherders have killed about 100 bears this summer. Same area the DoW bear biologists go to study the darlin's. May have to get a tag next year.

I'll be packing the NV .45 Colt out at the cabin. Or the 760 with one of those Triple K 10 shot magazines.
