Steveo,
I too am currently LIVING with cancer (bladder cancer in my case) though things for me have not gotten to the "let's have a talk" phase with the doc. Not preaching brother, but there ARE things that a person can do to improve their odds, and much can be found on the internet. Also, the Cancer Treatment Centers of America has a facility in Philadelphia which you might check out. The main things that an individual can do to help the fight is to KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE and to change their diet from ACID to ALKALINE with little or no refined sugars, as cancer seems to thrives in acid and sugars. Diet change is tough though as we are so used to eating all those goodies that don't take a lot of thought or prep time (fast foods, etc), or that are tasty and sweet (steak and cake). I have been trying to change mine right now too, but my wife is a good cook and she cooks for everyone, most of whom are NOT into a fruit/veggie/nut type diet, so I haven't been totally successful at this yet either, but I'm trying anyway. The way I see it is that the good Lord and prayers are our best help in this fight, but after all the prayers are offered, then the Lord expects us to roll up our sleeves and HELP HIM HELP US by doing our parts, and some of the heavy lifting too! My personal prayers are with you Steve, and I know that you have the support of ALL your Saubier brethren in this fight!!! My best regards to you and your family, Charlie

Definitely a tough message to receive. Make the most of your remaining days with family and friends, one day at a time. God Bless.

OT Update
Steve.. So sorry for that type of information. I can relate, as a few years back the wife and I went through that with my mother and her father and that talk with the doctor's. Also in each case it was make them as comfortable and allow them to live the time left as best that can be. Enjoy what ever time is left and really enjoy family and friends. Bill K

Stevo,
So sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I can only reflect on the movie "Bucket list". Make the best of your time with friends and family and never give up hope as others have said. Cancer treatments have come a very long way in the last few years. I sincerely hope they can do something for you. Aaron

Stevo, I am sorry for your news. I have a loved one fighting cancer right now and I have been afraid that I would be getting that talk a couple of times in the last 6 months. I will pray that you find comfort, and accomplish the things you wish to do.

Sorry to read this Steve.
Wife's cousin got that from his doctors 3 weeks ago. All I can say is, keep a positive outlook. I believe a person has more control over their body than doctors can, and sometimes they are wrong. Prayers Allen |
