Default Norma 6 PPC brass

Any one know the neck thickness of the recent run of Norma 6 PPC brass. My 22 PPC brass have necks that are too thin for my 22 PPC Cooper.

Thanks, Chuck

I'll measure my 22PPC rounds
What are you looking for as far as a loaded neck diameter?

Loaded Norma 22 PPC rounds measure .242"
I have a set of forming dies, so I'll make some cases from IMI 7.62x39 brass and see what the neck diameter is using formed cases.

Starline offers PPC basic brass that with a lot of forming steps could become 22 PPC brass.

A 22 PPC case formed from 7.62x39 IMI brass measures .250-.251" with a bullet seated. It was so fat in the neck that I had to seat the bullet with 6PPC die.

I'll dig out some WW and R-P 7.62x39 brass and see what the formed neck diameter is.

John

I formed a case from Hornady 6.5 Grendel brass and the neck diameter was in the .248-.249" range with a small rifle primer pocket bonus.
However the neck still wouldn't fit inside my Redding 22PPC seating die.
A straight line seating die might be your best option to address the large OD necks.

Default Norma 22 PPC neck thickness

Thanks for the info. I am surprised by Cooper's max SAAMI chamber neck diameter and too much freebore.
