And to think I once sold a .221 527 with nice wood to buy a Cooper. Your's looks as good as a Cooper; plus, it has a magazine! Nice job, Brent.

That stock is absolutely gorgeous. What did you use to strip the old finish and what stain did you use to darken the wood? You did a hell of a job on this project. You should be proud!!!

Been thinking of refinishing my CZ527. Couple reasons, I scratched the stock and when I sanded it out I discovered what I believe to be tinted clear rather than stained/cleared.

Dark walnut would be more appealing to me as the factory tint is a tan/sandy brown.

I'm also curious how you stripped it? And if you discovered the same gray turkish walnut under tinted satin clear?

Really nice looking rifle. I like darker stocks like that one. If this is you first foray into refinishing stocks it certainly has been a successful start- great work!
