Default Custom Sako P94S (Finnfire)

My custom Sako P94S project just completed. All metalwork by Ed LaPour; all wood and engraving by Bruce Farman--both in Bremerton, WA and members of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild. The bottom metal is a reworked Blackburn unit designed for the Winchester 52, with the hinged floorplate release in the trigger bow. Trigger is a Jewell with bottom safety. Barrel is the original Sako varmint barrel octagoned and reduced in weight. Gun with soldered bases for Talley vertical rings weighs 6 lbs. 13 oz. Wood is English walnut with 24 lpi checkering.

That rifle is just plain gorgeous! Nice design and implementation. Please give us a few more pictures with some brighter lighting. I couldn't quite make out the grain well enough in the stock. Thanks for sharing.

No chance it will be a safe queen!

Looks as if I'm restricted to 4 images per post, so here are 4 more:

A couple more images. I had Ed and Bruce make up two sets of Talley rings, one for 1 inch scopes and one for 30 mm. scopes. All metal parts were cold rust blued. I had two sets of action screws made up--one set with hex heads for everyday use and one with thin slot heads more for "show".

Since the project was aimed at producing an all-out .22LR hunting rifle, I got a March 1-10X24 scope. I has a huge 105 ft. FOV at 100 yds. on 1-power and enough top end on 10-power for typical .22LR hunting ranges. It also focuses and is parallax-free down to 10 yards.
