It appears to be a Favorite. Has a Favorite but pad on it.

Don't think I'd shoot a Favorite with any center cartridge, no matter how small a case. Better check with the Amer Single Shot Rifle group, think it's assra.org.

Small pivoting pin is not much to bet on with centerfire pressure possibles if truly the Favorite design.

There is always loading down to old 32 rimfire blackpowder specs, but who knows what person/kid will try for 4000 fps later on?

Might consider Ray's suggestion and post query over at ASSRA, guys over there have a lot of background with early single shots and conversions.

Hornet Lover, I am not seeing any photos of your son's rifle or cartridge but can see the photo of the hornet wildcats that Boomer posted, what am I missing?

I first looked at the thread before I logged in and I could not see the OP's photos. After logging in, the pictures appeared in the OP's original post.

I was finally able to see the photos. I switched browsers from Microsoft Edge to FireFox and the photos came right up/ can't say more than has already been said but it is a neat cartridge and rifle. All due cautions should be followed for sure.

Thank you for sharing.
