damn all of these companies are selling out! guess without O' driving gun sales up they don't feel like doing it anymore. crazy how these companies can go from having to hire more staff working 24/7/365 to belly up a few years later.....right!

Last two guns I have bought from them, needed returned for repairs. Hope quality improves, the one is there right now.

It sure would take very little effort for them to improve quality

Haha, just not my cup of tea anymore, savage.

I will say that my first "varmint rifle" 19 years ago was a Brand New Savage Model 12 FV in 22-250. That rifle was a hammer!! Flimsy plastic stock, pre-accutrigger (disaster), but that sucker would shoot. 1/4" groups with 38.0gr Varget and 40gr V max. 1/4" groups with 52gr Sierra HPBT Matchkings and 36.0gr Varget.

Well at least Vista sold. But it looks like the past head of Savage Arms may just be one alongwith others, maybe from Old Savage that are the investment group. I guess we will just have to wait and see, could it be returning to the old Savage that so many knew years ago.. That would be good. Bill K

I read on another forum that the new owners plan to cut costs by eliminating the barrel bore roughening process that is used on all of the current Savage rifles.......

Think, like so many rumors that went around when others sold, we will be hearing and seeing all sorts of speculation.
No one but the new owners know what they will do and in time we will see the results and what they have in mind and what direction the company will go under their leadership and control. Bill K

I really think that the comment that I quoted was a totally tongue in cheek comment about Savage rifle barrels and that it was not a business plan............

As long as they don't quit making them shoot 1/2" groups, I would go along with that!
