Default K-Hornet Annealing

Would like to know what y'all think about annealing K-Hornet brass. Reason I'm asking is that after necking up to 6mm then back to 22 for making FF loads I'm losing a few to split necks and shoulders. Wondering if I need to anneal before loading the FF rounds to prevent splitting. Thanks for experienced opinions.

Joe I open necks to 25 cal and then neck down also. I anneal before fire forming and haven't lost a neck in several thousand cases ( W-W brass).

Any time that you are forming a new cartridge from an existing one, and the process involves necking a cartridge up or down, annealing is a needed part of the process if you want the brass to survive.

Thanks guys, I just got back from my annual PD shoot and found these damaged cases while re-prepping the brass, so guess I'll run them through the annealer before I finish them up. Thanks for your help.

Neck them up to 243 if you must neck up. Honestly, I made the brass by firing regular cases in a K hornet barrel. I have never tried to form a false shoulder, Hornet brass headspaces on the rim anyhow. Never had any problems with losing cases or getting them to form properly.
