Default Tula primers

Are these the same as Wolf primers? Called Sinclair and couldn't get a firm answer. How have they worked for your loads?

Thanks,

Chuck

Default Tula

Chuck,

I picked up 20,000 of the small rifle magnum primers a couple of years back. The benchrest guys were claiming very small std dev and good ability to take high pressure loads.

I would compare them favorably to Rem 7 1/2 primers. I have never blown one and they appear to be tough. I also have not noticed any decline in accuracy either. I have noticed that they seem to seat a little harder than other primers so it could be that they are slightly larger in diameter or the cup may be tougher to squeeze into the primer pocket.

Other than that, I find no issues with them and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Did you try the standard small rifle primer to compare with the magnums?

FWIW :
I had hang fires when I tried the standard ones in my 22 BR.
They work great in my 17 HH.
I have not tried them in any other cartridges.

The magnums work great for AR loads.

I use the Small Rifle Mag, Large Mag, and Small Rifle. They are wolf rebranded.

Default Tula Primers

Tula primers are made in the same factory as Wolf, but usually sell at a better price! They always go bang for me!

Chuck,
I have tried only the magnum primers. Sorry, no information on the standard primers.

I haven't been able to get them to shoot better than this they probably aren't worth your time.

They work great in cases with slightly enlarged pockets.
Basically all I use.

I've heard of guys using them when primer pockets start to expand and their regular primers wont seat properly. I dont recommend that, as I dont see myself as being careful to know each case so well. I wonder if there would be an issue of starting new with the slightly larger primer, would it stretch faster?
