Hodgdons list it for the .221 fireball. I tried it in a 19FBI without success. Ie. blown primers.

Lil"gun is pretty fast but I use it in the 221 FB with very good results and there are published loads in that application. I also use it in 218 bee, and 22 Hornet. It produces the very top velocities, in almost all bullet weights in all of these cartridges. I realize the 17 FB is going to be a little more overbore than the 221 FB but I can't see why Lil"Gun would necessarily not work.

LG and 4198 is listed in the same bullet weights for 17AH, 22 Horent, 218 bee and 221 FB. LG is 61 on the burn chart, 4198 is 71 so 4198 is slower but I am not so convinced that Lil"gun is TOO FAST to work in the 17FB.

Now LG does spike pressure quite quickly so a guy would want to work up in tenths. If I was going to try it, I first see if I could get a starting load out of laod data and I would call Hogdon and see if they recommend it. If they think it will work I would ask if they can give you at least a starting point to work up from.. Let us know if you try this out.
