Default Looking for help

Hello I’m fairly new here. Looking for suggestions on how to go about trading gun for gun. What’s the best way to go about this? Since I don’t have any history here. What’s the best way to make people comfortable. I have a L57
Sako in 243 it’s a Wards Western Field in what I would call good shape it’s been hunted. Looking for a L461 in 222 in similar shape. Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you for your help I would throw some pictures up but as my wife says I’m technologically challenged. I could text them to someone if there is interest.

Welcome aboard:

Hate to tell you this, The value of your Wards rifle is no where
near what a Sako is worth. So swapping gun for gun is most
likely a missed wet dream.

Wish you luck though.

Don't get discouraged, keep asking around you might
find something that rifle would make a decent down payment on.

I just figured that since my rifle is also a Sako that it would be reasonable to try to swap.

Hmmmm,, I missed that part.
I'm mixed up though. Never heard of Wards/Sako before.

I'll bow out, maybe some of the others will chime in to help you out.

still wish you good luck on finding what you want to do.

Wards, like a great many large retailers, ordered guns from lots of places. Almost all were the same gun as the manufacturer made for its own use with maybe a couple of minor changes re stock style, recoil pad etc. The action and stock will be the same 99% of the time. A swap for another Sako should not be an issue unless the gun has an odd configuration. Posting a picture would let us tell you that for sure.

As far as doing a swap; as a new poster, with I presume, no trade track record on here or elsewhere you are going to be pretty much limited to face to face deals. Other choice if you need to send the gun elsewhere is to do the exchange through an FFL. When your FFL confirms he is in possession of gun to ship and other FFL confirms same, guns are shipped and exchange is done.

Gun shows are another good place to look for swap opportunities. Welcome and best of luck.
