Thanks again for the update --- looks like the group in match 1 is very nice except for the one shot low.

You think there is more to ring out the rifle accuracy wise in a match? I wasn't sure if you felt some of the bigger groups were due to misread conditions, etc. Has it shot smaller aggs in practice?

Thanks for all the meticulous data. Well done. To be competitive in open company in benchrest, that gun will have to shoot in the "ones". If it doesn't thus far, assuming wind flags are being used all the time, I'd be looking at different pills to start with. The other consideration is that all barrels aren't created equal. In fact, getting a hummer is pot luck.Perhaps you are getting all there is. I, for one, would love to see you whip 'em at a big match with that rig. Keep going!

Default 20 vt

My heavy 20 VT is not as sexy. It's a Rem XR 100that had the new 223 barrel removed. Then I had the same heavy contour Lilja barrel installed and had the action glassed in the stock.
It shoots sub 1/2" with sierra 32 Blitzkings and H4198.

Wink

Harold, we definitely need some hand-swaged benchrest pills to wring the best out of that rifle. I reckon there's more in that gun, and don't you go blaming your age or anything. You shoot as well or better than anyone else on this site. Don't doubt yourself. We don't doubt you!

I am thinking that the available variety of .20 cal bullets is a limiter on group size at the moment. So many great 6mm bullets out there...
