Todd himself told Kerry we were in virgin territory and he wouldnt be much help because to his knowledge his bullets havent been pushed that fast. I guess time will tell at the rate Kerry is shooting that thing we will have another test barrel soon.

well let us know how they do after the barrel gets 500 rounds plus on it. IF they still shoot and made it to the target I will have to have one too!

Several have asked for specifics. You mentioned " lenghening the case". How do you do this? How about giving us the diameter of the case at the shoulder and the length of the neck. Some of us use H380 as a medium for case capacity. How about filling a case full to the top of the neck and weighing it for us. If you don't have H380 how about H335. Thanks. Inquiring minds want to know. Kenny

Carver calls pics and info.

From left I call it 17 pos( Predator on steroids) its a 17 that uses 204 brass with the same taper as the predator. Then the 17 Predator. 17 Rem and then the 17 fireball.

I understand that this would be like a 17 Predator *long/longer*???

That is some awesome velocity you are getting and where as you are having good results with TK 30 gr Golds I would suspect I was way over on pressure, causing issues when I was getting 4k with em from a lot smaller case and they would not make it to the target and the 30 gr Berger’s did ok…

A while back I was looking at a 17-204 but was looking at a lot longer neck closer to the 17 rem/222 rem….

I believe there is someone here who has a 17-204 but could not find it on a search but did come up with this thread (incase you have not seen it yet) that you may find it interesting….

Hope to hear more reports come as you are using this neat round! Keep up the good work, I am very interested!

Hi all, I'm Kerry the proud owner of the gun in discussion, as the gun was only built a week ago there are still allot of unknowns. Gotchanow did a beautiful job in building the gun. I cant thank him enough.. Ive been doing allot of testing the last week with this gun. Yesterday I pushed the 27 grain Kindler golds to as fast as I dare. I fired a 4 round group at this velocity at 100 (not bagged)and they were right at 1/2 inch.. Here are some pics..

Very cool guys,
That puts another 100 -200 fps or so on what I get out of the straight 17/204. We are getting around 4180 give or take with our 30grain bullet and our favorite loads. We can go a bit over 4200 with the 30 no problem. Our 27 runs just under 4300, and I've been at 4350+ with it. And the 25 V-Max will easily do 4400+. My rifle really likes the Big Game as well. Keep us posted.
