Walked into a little pawn shop I know. There was an ooogly stock at the end of the rack. "Owner took it off this one". That lovely script, Model Seven. Can ya do anything on the price? Uh, $65. I'll bring you cash.
The grip and the inside of the barrel channel look like my Brown Precision stocks. Paint is chipping off, guy at the hardware store said it looks like epoxy. Looks like it was put on with dry wall texture tools.

Are there any paint removers safe to use on a fiberglass stock?

Me thinks someone got into the Scotch a little too heavy and was drunk typing. I will take a shot however, sand paper is about the only safe paint remover for fibreglass stocks.

Not drunk, just happy to get one after searching at three shows.

Don't want to use anything which will damage a fiberglass stock.

Check what strippers they use on vette's. They won't be using anything that would damage those bodies.

Good suggestion. I'd check at auto parts stores. Try sample on inconspicuous spot on stock before going all-out stripping.

You get it at Granger. It is Marine Paint Remover and they had a couple of brands last time I needed it.

You have to make sure you get it all off before repainting. I think I used acetone and wiped it down and then I know I left the stock sit in the sun and wiped it down a few more times for a week to make sure.

In case anyone here has need of a McMillan for a Ruger 77 MKII, this is a dandy and won't last long with the asking price of a single Benjamin. Unfortunately the OP didn't say what length it is in his post.
