Default which, in your opinion is the better made rifle

sako L461 vixen in 222 rem
anschutz 1532 in a 222 rem
steyr mannlicher sl 222 rem.

i don't think there is a bad choice in the group, just is one a standout.

Don't know anything first hand about Steyr but from what I do know plus 1st hand on the other 2, the Sako absolutely.

Any of the three are fine, but #1, too me, is the Sako.

The Sako is the epitome of what a small bolt action should be.

I agree, Sako L461 or maybe a Sako A1.

Really? The Sako Vixen hands down.

Mine are treasures that give me nothing but pure joy to shoot, or look at and fondle. The epitome of what a small caliber rifle should be.

Default I'll add a picture to the thread

It's the 17-222 that I built using a fairly rare factory Sako L461 single-shot action.

Kevin

(Can't find it right now....I'll add later)

Here's the action

And the rifle

Kevin, very nice rifle. My 17 Mach IV single shot started life with a 223 Rem, Mannlicher stock with the L461 BR action. Never was willing to pay into Photobucket. You helped me to fix the bent long extractor on it in a phone call from you. That was a few years ago.
