There is going to come a day…
When, I’m going to look in some dark recess in my shop and I am going to come across 200-250 1/16 inch e-clips. I lost another yesterday and ran the magnet into every nook and cranny and still couldn’t locate the damn thing. My box of 1/16 e-clips that I knew had eight or thirteen in it was sitting right in front of me but since it was not exactly where it belongs, you know the score.
I had given up looking and moved on to another project today when I located the box of clips and so all is well once again. I just don’t lose anything other than those damnable clips and since a man’s got to recognize his limitations when I buy them I buy a box of them, but they have to be American, Japanese or German ones. Between loosing them and giving them away a box lasts me ten years. Where in the Sam hell they all go must be the same place one of each pair of socks I buy the kids ends up. Sounds like you don't work on pistols.
Try those itty bitty coil springs in a Snubby Smith sometime. Oh yeah, they JUMP TOO!

That ain't NOTHING!!!!!
About 40 years ago............
Working on an old Colt Gold Cup.........the sear depressor spring, almost microscopic in size, TOOK OFF for parts unknown......in shag/deep pile carpeting. After approx. an hour.......I actually FOUND IT. After that episode......ALL sear depressor spring work happens INSIDE a large clear plastic bag. Great old memories........ Kevin |

Been there............. Like Kevin said, need to learn to work inside a clear plastic bag for those jobs if possible. I have done the lost in space and amazingly FOUND, and I too have done the lost forever more times than I want to remember, sometimes a too slow learner.

I also learned to used a plastic bag the hard way. The other nice tool is to have is a magnetic pick-up tool and a strong flashlight or floodlight.
