I'm glad I decided to go with my 300 Jr. cartridge, instead of my original plans to build a 30-284. Every 300 Jr. rifle that I have built has had a 30" barrel and the most accurate loads, without exception, come from using IMR-4350 powder, regardless of bullet weight....

Looks a lot like my f-class gun but it has a brake. What does it weigh. The case reminds me of a 30 Gibbs.

This gun weighs exactly 19 lbs...

I have never had my hands on a 30 Gibbs, so I don't know what differences there are between the two...

I finally got a chance to do a load development and a little accuracy testing with my new rig. I'll post targets later on this evening....

Here is the final load development load for my Winchester - 300 Jr. -



CASE: Federal 280 Rem. brass / necked to .30 caliber / fireformed...



PRIMER: Federal 210 Match...



POWDER: IMR-4350 / 65.7 gr...



BULLET: Hornady 155 gr. A-MAX / Sierra 165 gr. B.T.-Spitzer...



VELOCITY: Hornady bullet - 3,512 fps. / Sierra bullet - 3,381 fps...



The groups posted above were an "average" group size for 3, 3-shot groups shot at each range....

I had to shoot the 1,000 yd. and 1,200 yd. targets at first light, so wind are mirage were almost non existent. Otherwise, I seriously doubt I could have shot groups that were even double that size....
