.219 Zipper.
Ive just bought a used Ruger #1 in .219 Zipper, 1-10 twist,
Any one load for one with the 60-68gr bullet weights, ? I have a few boxes of 63gr Serria and lots of 3031, CFE.223 & BLC-2, so was going to start there, I've got quick load so going to look at about 50000psi for pressure, Anyone got any info on loads for a strong single shot, How prone is brass to streach, ? Any other info. Ive got dies and 25-35 brass today, waiting on Canada post for rifle. should be a fun project to get shooting over the winter. |

Greetings from another Zipper owner, although my rifles are lever action.
Most Zippers have slower twist barrels than the one on your rifle, so loading data for bullets heavier than 60 grains is going to be scarce. My rifles like 3031, but for heavier bullets 4064 would be a choice I would explore. I haven't had issues with stretching or case head separations, but the case design makes that a risk. I'm not pushing the pressures and resize the cases so that they still require a little effort to close the action. |

I have two Zippers, a lever and a single shot. Neither have a twist that fast. My favorite jacketed bullet load is 28.0 gr of H4895 with either a Sierra or Hornady 55gr. SP. That load produces 3475fps out of the 26" barrel on the single shot and 3100 fps on the 20" lever. Case stretch is not much of an issue in either rifle at whatever pressure that load is. I reform 30-30 brass as I have two 25-35's and they get the proper head stamped stuff.
