Canada 2019
Recently my wife and I had a bit of a vacation in Canada.
Some of the threads I've read since I got home have highlighted some of the things we could have done.........if I had been better organised....lol We took a few pics while away so who would like to see a photo tour of where we went and what we did?? |

Well that's all the encouragement I need......
Late June Helen and I hoped on a plane in Dunedin to start our trip to Vancouver, Canada. It's was winter in New Zealand and during the flight north it was pretty cloudy, but we did catch a glimpse of the top of Mt Egmont poking through the clouds. Well a few hours before we left on Saturday 29th we arrive in Vancouver on Saturday 29th and pick up our rental car Yep a Chev with a pretty cavernous trunk, we managed to fit all our luggage in there and only had some personal stuff in the car itself. Yep I was pretty impressed |

We didn't take too many photos on the early part of our trip but we headed East from Vancouver and stayed in Langley City the first night.
From Langley we headed further East and after a leisurely drive came down the hill toward Osoyoos, which is located at the bottom end of the Okanagan Valley. The Okanagan Valley is rather picturesque, and reminded us of Central Otago back in New Zealand, only more lakes. https://www.loveexploring.com/news/7...olumbia-canada We spent the night in Penticton and walked down to the Barley Mill Pub for dinner, I started off with a Nite Mare Brown ale and some Tequila Pork Bites In the morning we headed North, up through Kenlowa where we ended up getting a flat tyre. Of course nothing was open as it was a public holiday, Canada day. Since we had a sort of schedule we fitted what passes for a spare these days and carried on. The next town was Vernon, where just north of there we stayed on 97 and headed sort of west through Falkland, Westwold, past Mont Lake and then left onto the Trans Canadian Hwy and stopped in Kamloops. I have to say I really liked the drive from Osoyoos to Kamloops it was very picturesque country. |

Since we had a few hours to fill in in Kamloops we headed out to the BC Wildlife Park.
BC Wildlife Park We saw a few animals that we most likely wouldn't have seen in the wild. |

Kiwi:
Glad you had a nice trip. Just some advice mate: Let US know where you're planning on going a few months ahead of time. Lot's of US have been around and can get you lined up on more things to do and see than you'd be able to get too. Did you look up Daryl? Clouds from above are amazing sometimes. Let's see some more pictures now. Hi Helen!! PS: I liked that black Chrysler you rented and drove by here better.
