Default Sako mod75 No.I action to Ruger 204

For those that may have been down this road and seen the view, are there any potential problems rebarreling a Sako model 75 No. I action to Ruger 204? More specifically, do they feed OK from the magazine?

the 1 size action is a .222 or .223 correct? I doubt there will be any issues getting it to feed. I converted a 3 size to 257 Ackley is no problems.

I can't imagine why it wouldn't feed fine. One issue that might pop up is cartridge OAL. The 75-1 magazine is 2.400" long give or take, which might be a little short for a long throated 204 if you want to seat the bullet out. It seems odd that the factory Sako 204's are built on the 75-3 action, and length is the only reason that comes to mind. But, the CZ magazines must be even shorter than the Sako 75-1!

Default action current cartridge

The action I'm thinking about is, I believe, currently chambered for the 223Rem cartridge.

Default My Sako 75 I rifle was in .17 Remington

and it feeds fine. I have some Hornady 204 Ruger factory ammo lying around and it fits in the magazine fine; however, there is only a little bit of room left. As Dan said, if you can keep the loaded round OAL below like 2.36 it should work fine.
