Default 20 scc

So how come no one recommended the 20 SCC cartridge as it is really showing some high results:

20 SCC cartridge (20-221 AI modified)
32gr Vmax CCI400 primers and Nosler 221FB cases .230 neck bushing
Accurate 2200 powder:
22.0g A2200 4154 fps

Go on over to the SCC forum and read their claims

L46 has a detachable magazine that matches the round, unlike the L461

Would like to see at what PSI it actually runs, not a safe in my gun, type review or quick load. That’s way higher than anything I have seen, for the size of the case.

I recieved one a while ago in a gun amnesty here in OZ and was looking at what to chamber it inas the factory 223 would just fit, anyway someone mentioned 20/222 so I ordered a reamer from Dave Manson and was looking for load Data when I came across this post. Really keen to see how this will work on our local foxes etc?
Cheers From Australia
G'day Roger68, you wouldn't be based in Portland Victoria would you? If so I have a .20-222 and I am just up the road - happy to have a yarn.

Kverval: Would be nice to know what you intend to shoot with it
to start with. You'd get much better info that way.
Welcome to the board.

Roger and Branx:

Welcome to the best gun board there is.

Sure would be nice if you guys would post your
location in the header. There's a whole bunch of guys on here
from Oz. A few years ago I asked for a head count etc and got
well over 50 replies. OZ is well represented here.

Several are bunny shooters, quite a few do their things on fox too.
A few from NZ even.

Enjoy yourselves here.

G'day Rog, another Aussie here, and another 20/222 fan, had mine for around 6 or 7 years now, fantastic little cartridge. I got mine built after reading an article in one of the Aussie gun magazines, written by Andy Montgomery in Guns and Game, it was called I believe 20-222 Sprinter, the rifle he wrote about was built back in the 70's by Sprinter Arms in South Aust. It really piqued my interest and I cant say a bad thing about it since mine was built. Had over 2500 rounds through it now and it still groups in the sup 1/2 inch at a hundred yards.

Watch out for that bloody Marcus, he will try and lead you astray, always sending links to interesting rifles he finds on sale sites, always trying to spend your hard earned for you.

Welcome to the forum. Another one you might like to join is Austvarmint.com, its kind of a sister forum to this one and specializes in varmints shooting and cartridges/rifles.

Default .20/.222 in Sako L46...

I have one for sale if anyone is interested. It's not quite finished, but will be in a few weeks. Lothar Walther 11 Twist bbl. Acrabond laminated stock (from the late Mel Smart). Very nice piece of wood. 22" bbl. Smithed by Greg Tannel. If anyone is interested, shoot me at e-mail to: robjordan@citlink.net.

Thanks,

Jordan
