Scope Rings
You'll know whether your Small Caliber rifle is going to make it off the ground when you go the Range and sight in. Like I said in another Post I worked 25 years in a mom and pop gunshop. The gunsmith and partner taught me all he knew about scopes and rings. I taught him all I knew about BR scopes and rings. One of a few things I use today are that no tension should be introduced when using base and rings in scope mounting. The scope is the free agent here and will track and absorb shock and come back and repeat longer than you will live. My Weaver K series scopes are some of my best and and a reliable series of scopes and as I say this the Weaver's go along with my dung load of Leupold, Redfield, Lyman, Unertl, Tasco, Bausch & Lomb and others, more scopes than rifles. What makes the Weavers so good are their rings, simple and secure. I also use Leupold, Redfield, Kelbly, Burris, among other bases and rings.
So next time you head for the range or the field check your rings making sure every thing is secure and allowing your scope to be on the same axis of your barrels bore. Stephen Perry Last edited by stephen perry 1; 05-27-2013 at 12:32 PM. |
