New Guy
Just found this forum and signed up.I'm always looking for more info about varmint guns and loads.I've been going to the dakota's for 15 years to shoot p-dogs.This year I had two ar-15's custom built for the trip and have not had much of a chance to work up some loads. One is a .20 tactical and the other is a 243 wzzm. does any one have any experience with ar's in those calibers?

20 Tac in an AR
From the "Load Data" section: http://www.saubier.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5440
Two weeks ago while shooting (at) PD's, the other PD shooter was alternating between his R15 in 204R, and his 5x35 cannon bolt gun (Rem 700). His ability to quickly adjust and shoot again, when using the "black rifle" (actually camo ), was noticeable. Some of the dogs became compost, due to having less time to decide "I'm diving outta here". Greg |

I have an AR in Tac 20. It's for sure a good way to go. I shoot RL-10X under 32g V-Maxs. I would think somewhere around 23g would be a good starting load. I don't know if you can still get back issues of Small Caliber News from the Woodchuck Den or not, but if so, there is a 14 page article in the Spring 2004 edition you will want.
If you can't get a copy, let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Jay T. |
