I would like to see that New Anschutz action in the WSM Rimfire!
The action does look "Beefy" on the Savage. The plastic stock and magazine look "Cheezy" though. Have to see one in person, I guess!

Forget the rifle,
Give us the measured spec's of this RF case, inquiring minds GOT to know,
if you got any ammo in your hot little grubbies!!!!!!

We need the case spec's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, a GOOD clear photo of this case beside a 17 Hornet case with a 1/4" grid scale in the back ground, would be icying on the cake, even if we can't eat it YET!!!!!!

I got a thick Tbone steak dinner w/JD riding on the spec's, I made a SWAG on, with my hunting partner.

Tia,
Don

Those plastic rotary mags will never work! Not crazy about the plastic stock, but for the asking price what can one expect. The action looks to have some potential.

I think my large picture screwed up the board. Here's a link to the spec picture:

Thats pretty thick neck wall, thickness is a lot more than I would have thought. That case cries out to be a 20 and 22 caliber.

Eric Mayer,

Thank you for the info, I WON the DINNER bet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a post here on the 9th, I think, about what the new 17 WSM case spec's would be, kinda a SWAG, this was after I measured the fired 27 cal nail gun blank I had in my collection.

Here was my SWAG:
Total case length= 1.100" long,
Case diameter= .275" (straight)
Neck Diameter= .194"
Base diameter= .325" in diameter,
Shoulder angle= 25*,
Case shoulder angle length= .091"
Total Case capacity of=13.0grs
Chamber PSI= 38,000PSI
-----------------------------------------
Per Spec’s shown on diagram per EM,
Total case length= 1.200" long,
Case diameter= .269" (straight)
Neck Diameter= .197"
Base diameter= .333" in diameter,
Shoulder angle= 20*,
Case shoulder angle length= .099"

I can taste that steak now, and I'll bring my BIG CUP for the JD, hunting partner.

Thank you,
Don

Those are the specs given out by Winchester. The actual ammunition may be slightly different, but that's a given this early in the game.

I hope it's a Ribeye!

Well you need to share that dinner with me
If I recall correctly i made first mention of the winchester rep down here telling a retail bloke it was based on a nail gun cartridge.

Do I get my own steak, or do we have to share yours

Johno
