Default Parker Hale Cleaning Rods

I bought a pair in 1975 still use them. I have a couple other sets I like them because with a small diameter jag I can run a 1 1/4 patch through my 22 Match barrels loaded with solvent. Also they are stiff enough to handle a new 22 brush sometrimes a 6 without much bending. My Dewey rods are for my 6mm up to 30 cal.

Are they still available ??

I have two each of the 22 and 270 and use them as much as I can. The last time I saw any for sale was Brownell's

I would trade every Dewey rod I own for another set

I still use Parker Hale rods - one piece, I think 44" long. I wrap Medicinal cotton around the jags and it really puts the solvent in the bore. And, use GI patches cut in half for JB application.

Parker Hale went bust some years ago.

I used their plastic coated rod and found it appalling. The plastic stripped off very easily.

Sorry to say this but you don't know how to use a cleaning rod. Some PH rods saw some wear but mine bought in 75 have not peeled. Never said they were still available. They sold thousands of Parker Hale cleaning rods. I also have Deweys rods, some bad remarks about them too. Some people say bad about Cadillacs, not me.

Default Parker Hale rods

I am most likely like many on the site. I have more than one brand of cleaning rods. They all do the job, they are intended to do. Some I seem to like better than others, but they all work. I really have no favorite, out of them. Some are fairly new and some are over 40 years of age, still going. Bill K

I'm of the opinon that Small Caliber is not the place for not so good revues of products that most see as favorable.
